Marc S. Beckman is a partner with Scolaro, Shulman, Cohen, Fetter & Burstein, P.C. Marc concentrates his practice particularly on the representation of physicians, dentists and other healthcare professionals.
Marc's healthcare work principally involves counseling healthcare-related businesses and the professionals that own such businesses regarding operation and transactional matters, including employment issues, regulatory compliance, acquisitions, joint ventures, mergers and sales of healthcare-related businesses and organizations, as well as succession planning. Marc is also involved in the representation of healthcare professionals in connection with professional conduct and credentialing inquiries, audits and actions brought by hospitals, payors (including Medicare), Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the Department of Education.
Marc frequently lectures to residents, attending physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding fraud and abuse compliance and other regulatory issues, as well as general business operational matters.
Marc is active in the local community by participating in various charitable, civic, educational and fraternal organizations such as Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts leadership, Syracuse Jewish Federation, Congregation Beth Sholom Chevra-Shas, and the University of Rochester Alumni Organization, as well as the Alpha Delta Phi Literary Society Alumni Organization.
