Alan S. Burstein is a senior partner in the firm, Co-Chairman of the Litigation Practice Group and Chairman of the Family Law Practice Group. Alan’s practice has focused primarily on civil litigation, currently concentrating in matrimonial law; negligence; environmental law; adoption law; estate litigation and business litigation.
Alan was admitted to the bar in 1966, Michigan, New York and U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York; 1966, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan; 1969, U.S. District Court, Western District of New York and U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; 1970, U.S. Supreme Court. Associate Counsel, 1971-1972 and Special Counsel, 1973 to Majority Leader and President Pro Tem of New York State Senate.
Recipient: Award from Yeshiva University, 1974. Distinguished Service Award, Onondaga County's Outstanding Young Man, Syracuse Jaycees, 1975. B'Nai B'Rith Community Service Award, 1980. Roth Community Leadership Award, 1980. Temple Adath Service Award, 1992.
Alan was recently named to the 2011 New York Super Lawyers - Upstate Edition.
